The latest trailer for George Clooney's newest film, Up In The Air has arrived and I am really liking this movie so far.

FSR says: "Clooney looks to be on his game, he’s surrounded by a great supporting cast included Vera Farmiga, Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons and a little craziness from Zach Galifianakis, and he’s teamed up with a director who — in my eyes — is two for two on great films. I was completely enamored with the heart and wit of Juno and was refreshed and delighted with the snappiness of Thank You for Smoking. What Reitman appears to have done here is combined some of those elements into one single story."



What did you think of Up In The Air's movie trailer?

I love animation. I know that's a pretty broad statement but just learning about different types of animations styles is yet another hobby of mine. So when I saw this movie trailer for Metropia, I was floored.

The animation used for Metropia was something very similar to the rotoscoping process in A Scanner Darkly, where real life pictures and actors are used. However as you'll see from the movie teaser, this film creates its own style by blending that technique with an almost disproportionate anime style that results in an eerily disconcerting yet stunning animation.

The dreary, bleak feel fits well with the dystopian story that co-writer and director Tarik Saleh created. The tale takes us to Europe in 2024 where the world is running out of oil, and a giant underground transit network has been created. Roger, (Vincent Gallo) is a boring call-center operator who avoids the underground network because he finds it unsettling. Sometimes he even hears a voice in his head when he gets too close. One day after meeting a supermodel (Juliette Lewis) he stumbles upon the truth that his life is controlled in every way.

This was one of many films shown at Fantastic Fest, and so far the feedback has been pretty positive. Here's what /Films had to say: "...the Swedish film only cost $4.5 million U.S. leading to Twitch Film to declare in a review, “Set in a disturbingly familiar near-future, Tarik Saleh’s METROPIA blends the grey, surreal absurdity of vintage [Franz] Kafka with cutting edge digital animation to create something truly striking and unique. …his technique immediately establishes him as one of the most striking and unique voices in global animation.”

This trailer for the remake of Nightmare on Elm Street was actually released at Comic-Con and fans loved it. After watching it for the first time today, I can see why. The new Elm Street seems to be a good balance of keeping familiar elements in the film older fans remember and love, while introducing a darker take on the story, full of all the scares new and old fans expect from a good horror movie.



What did you think of the revamped Nightmare On Elm Street movie trailer?

I usually don't cover TV related things on CinemaFreakz, but these promotional SNL video clips made me laugh more than some movie trailers have so here they are. Well, that and the fact that they had Ryan Reynolds in them didn't hurt either, he'll be the SNL host this week with musical guest Lady Gaga. Anyway, enjoy!



What did you think of Ryan Reynolds' SNL promotional clips?

The animation in The Fantastic Mr. Fox is something that amazes me. Not necessarily the technology of it, which is pretty cool too, but I'm talking about the look it creates. Although I suspect this might have more to do with the Wes Anderson-ness of it all, and less about the animation style. Everything about this film, from the characters to the color schemes very much show Anderson's involvement and talent. And so far, I love it.



What do you think of this new movie trailer for The Fantastic Mr. Fox?

I love movies that revolve around family. Yeah, yeah, I know they're always a bit cliche, but since I have a big family they always strike a cord with me. And Robert De Niro's new movie entitled, Everybody's Fine looks to be another good one.

Starring Robert De Niro, Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale and Sam Rockwell, Everybody's Fine tells the story of a father seeking to bring his family back together and get them to relate to him in a way they never have.

Showcasing the directorial debut of Drew Barrymore, Whip It is based off the Shauna Cross novel, Derby Girl. Cross, who plays this sport in real life, also penned the script that brings us the story of the small town misfit, Bliss Cavendar. Biss has gotten tired of her mother's pressure to become a beauty queen and finds a release for her frustration in joining the underground, rough and tumble woman's sport of roller derby.

This featurette, narrated by Ms. Barrymore, highlights the struggles of, "finding your inner strength, believing you can do what boys do and figuring out who you are along the way," which are key elements in Whip It. Starring Ellen Page, Juliette Lewis, Kristin Wiig, Jimmy Fallon, Zoe Bell and Barrymore herself, Whip It is set to hit theaters October 9th.

I have a couple of friends who are fans of the original Boondock Saints movie and they have been waiting for Boondock Saints II:All Saints Day like Ritalin addicted freaks. Personally, I have never seen the movie, but I have heard a lot about it.

The director of the original Boondocks Saints movie, Troy Duffy, returns for the sequel that follows the fraternal twins Murphy and Conner MacManus as they are hunted by the son of mobster Yakavetta.

Starring Judd Nelson, Clifton Collins Jr., Sean Patrick Flanery and Julie Benz the Boondock Saints II:All Saints Day teaser seems to sport the awesome trifecta of girls, guns and gore. And from what I've read, most fans seem to be pretty happy about it. Boondocks Saints II is set to hit theaters November 1st.

I liked this movie trailer, but I'd be interested in hearing from someone who has seen the original Boondock Saints, let me know what you thought!

No, vampires shouldn't be cute...or cuddly. That is not the only reason why I'm not a fan of Twilight however. I'm really just not a fan of the angst riddled and dependency driven characters of the storyline. It's also due to the fact that Twilight goes against my notions of what I think a vampire should be. I just think vampires should be a mature mix of intelligence, sensuality and menacing evil. No, they shouldn't be mindless killing machines but for the love of all that's unholy, did they really have to sparkle?

Millions of Twitards who have helped make Twilight one of the most successful vampire franchises regardless of the film's flaws would disagree with me though, and Twilight in Forks is the latest film to prove that. Fresh off the ride Anything-Twilight wave, comes a documentary that discusses the accuracy of Forks, the tiny town in Washington where the majority of books take place.

Says Dread Central: "One of the things that makes 'Twilight' so unique is how much time Stephenie spent, as almost a journalistic approach, researching [the town’s details] for that original story," explained Bauer. "['Twilight'] is about the story [of Bella and Edward] itself, but along the way she documents every nuance of the town so accurately - the names of streets, the distances between things, the actual structures and the businesses. Every detail is in the book, and it’s actually there in the town."

"An interesting fact about Stephenie’s research is that it’s really accurate — and of course, if you talk to her publicist and herself, they would say she had never been to Forks before she wrote the book," explained Brown, setting up one of the topics they delve into for the film. "There’s actually a little bit of debate about that that, and it turns up in our movie."

Directed by Hank Nelken, this Funny Or Die short entitled, Hostage: A Love Story brings us the tale of what happens when a hostage and a hostage-taker get dangerously close to one another.

The film stars Zachary Quinto, Rachel Harris, and Roberta Valderrama.

Since my blog didn't exist when the first trailer for Love Happens came out, I figured I'd show you the "Official Love Happens International Movie Trailer" since it came out today.

Starring Aaron Eckhart and Jennifer Aniston, Universal Pictures brings you a romantic comedy about what happens what a self-help author arrives in Seattle to teach a sold-out seminar, and unexpectedly meets the one person who might finally be able to help him help himself. Directed by Brandon Camp, Love Happens opens in theaters September 18th.

You know, despite the tag line being a bit hokey, (ok a lot hokey) I actually like the feel of this movie. What do you think?

I loved The Decent. I thought it was scary and had great tension, not to mention it gave nightmares to millions of claustrophobic moviegoers. I always thought the idea of a sequel was a bit strange though.

I mean, if the sequel picks up where the first one left off, there should be a lone survivor from the previous trek into the cave filled with monsters who eat hot female spelunkers right? So why didn't they tell anyone about the cave? If that had been me, I would have said I owned the cave and sold that bitch to the Smithsonian. But that's just me.

All kidding aside, director Jon Harris takes us back down into the monster filled cave in The Decent: Part 2, set to be released October 14th. Let me know what you guys think of the movie trailer.

I heard the book, The Men Who Stare At Goats was a good book, so when I heard it was being made into a movie, I was mildly interested. I didn't hear much about it for a while but now the movie trailer has been released and I'm floored. This movie looks awesome!

I happened to see the teaser for Inception when I went to go see Inglourious Basterds, and my thoughts are the same as the couple who were seated in back of me. After the preview ended the man said, "The effects looked kick ass in that.." to which the woman replied, "Yeah but what is it about?" My thoughts exactly.

For those of you who haven't seen the preview yet, most of the information about the movie that's available usually fits in one sentence: Enter a world where your mind is the scene of the crime. What Inception is really about, has yet to be revealed, but so far it does look awesome. Complete with a very Matrix-esque fight scene in a hallway. So for now we'll trust director Christopher Nolan who, even before he delivered The Dark Knight, brought us such films as Memento and The Prestige.



Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Page, Michael Caine, and Cillian Murphy, Inception is set to hit theaters July 16th, 2010.

For what has been very much an Avatar discussion filled day, don't forget that Universal Pictures is releasing another version of it's most classic monsters, The Wolfman. Starring Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins and Emily Blunt, directed by Joe Johnston who previously brought us Jurassic Park 3, this film gives a new look at one of the scariest and haunting films put to screen.

"Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman, is lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estranged father, Talbot sets out to find his brother... and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself. Talbot's childhood ended the night his mother died. After he left the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor, he spent decades recovering and trying to forget. But when his brother's fiancée, Gwen Conliffe, tracks him down to help find her missing love, Talbot returns home to join the search. He learns that something with brute strength and insatiable bloodlust has been killing the villagers, and that a suspicious Scotland Yard inspector named Aberline has come to investigate."



I really like the cast for this film, and the trailer looked great. Overall, I'm really excited for this movie, and to see a classic monster on screen is always a lot of fun for me. (Godzilla movie not included.) We also have some picture from the movie, so let us know what you think of those as well.

The teaser for James Cameron's much awaited sci-fi, Avatar was just released, and here it is:



After watching it, I think my feelings are a bit mixed. Without a doubt, I think this was one of the most beautiful movie teasers I've seen, and the movie does look very interesting.

However, to me certain parts almost felt like I was watching a semi-computer animation movie. Almost like it was a CG cartoon. Specifically some of the parts where the natives of Pandora, the Na'vi are shown. I do think the overall movie teaser is awesome though, the scenery looks breathtaking and some of the scenes showing some of the other wildlife that inhabit the alien planet, Pandora look amazing.

For a long time the hype for this movie had been building, and the "Avatar pictures" of James Cameron holding a camera didn't help settle it. Now I'm interested in hearing if this trailer lived up to the hype? What did you guys think of Avatar's movie trailer?

Directed by F. Gary Gray, Law Abiding Citizen stars Jamie Foxx as a district attorney who makes a deal to let the murderers of Gerard Butler's family go free. Out for revenge, Butler's character Clyde Shelton, decides to take matters into his own hands.

While Clyde is in prison, mysterious murders and precisely orchestrated killings start to happen all with the ultimate target of the district attorney in mind.

This movie looks really good, not to mention that I love movies where I can cheer for the bad guy!

So here it is, the movie teaser for the film that unanimously came out as one of the sleeper hits in Comic-Con, Kick-Ass! After watching these few minutes of it, I can see why. Action, comedy, blood and guts. Sounds good to me!!

Kick-Ass is director's Mathew Vaugh's adaptation of the Frank Miller graphic novel of the same title. The movie tells the story of Dave Lizewski, a typical high school student in love with comic books. Dave goes very much unnoticed in life until he, despite having no special powers or training, makes the decision to become a super hero. Immediately Dave is introduced to a world and characters he never dreamed of, including Mindy Macready, better known as the eleven year-old, cold-blooded assassin, Hit Girl. (shown below)

Earlier this week I showed a promo given by ET for The Lovely Bones. An incredible novel written by Alice Sebold about a young girl who is murdered and must come to terms with her own death, while her family learns to heal and live without her.

Now the full movie trailer has come out, and it looks just as stunning as I hoped it would. I really think Peter Jackson captures great moments and images on screen.
