Rodriguez Confirms 'Predators' Director
For months there has been heavy speculation and rumors of who would helm the Robert Rodriguez reboot of Predators.
Finally though, in an AICN interview (confirming Latin Review's story) Rodriguez has announced Nimrod Antal as the director of the Predators film. Antal's previous works include the horror picture, Vacancy and the much talked about movie, Kontroll. Rodriguez went on to say that after seeing Antal's upcoming, Armored he was very impressed with both his casting and sense for action.
Both qualities seemed important to Rodriguez when he spoke of how Antal reminds him, "of Quentin with how he was able to work with a group of very strong, singular actor talents and make it look effortless. I know he’ll be able to get the most out of what we want to be an outstanding cast. We really want to go with a character driven action movie.”
Rodriguez also gave some key details about the project's development stating that, although it's been rewritten, he plans to use his 1994 original script and that he intends KNB to be very involved with the special effects.
Personally, I wasn't really excited about either of the last two Predators movies, so it'll be interesting to see someone else's take on it.
