In an update to my earlier post that there would indeed be a Wolverine 2 movie, it seems that 20th Century Fox has hired a writer. They've chosen Christopher McQuarrie to write the script that Hugh Jackman is developing.

Variety reports that McQuarrie, who also penned the screenplay for The Usual Suspects, has a history with the X-Men movies, as he did uncredited work on the first one with director Bryan Singer. His latest work was on the film, Valkyrie.

Now that the film has a writer, many people are looking to who the director will be. Fox has not yet determined whether previous Wolverine director, Gavin Hood, will return for this film.
