Baywatch picks up a writer/Director
There are a few things in American pop culture that I think we'd like to forget. It's probably different for everyone, but watching Baywatch ranks right up there with rapping, "Ice Ice Baby", at least in my book it does.
Now Joel Schumacher's apprentice, Jeremy Garelick, has been hired to rewrite and direct a full-length picture version of Baywatch as a comedy. *insert chorus of painful moans here*
Although this is Garelick's directing debut, his past projects include co-writing, The Break-Up and doing uncredited work on The Hangover while on Todd Phillips' writing team.
According to Variety, the plot will go like this: "The script now focuses on two unlikely lifeguard candidates trying to catch on alongside the buff bodies that will be as abundant in the film as they were in the TV series."
Well at least the casting should be pretty easy since I highly doubt this project will involve any serious acting, I vote they just go down a list of Maxim's hot 100 and call it a day.
