No, I'm not kidding. Martin Lawrence is going to strap the fat suit on yet again for Big Momma's House 3.

You know, I'm of the firm belief that every time one of these movies gets made, a fairy dies. Or maybe it's some poor, unsuspecting moviegoer whose brain can't absorb the mass amounts of stupidity emanating from the screen. However it plays out, I'm sure you get the point: bad things happens when movies like this are made.

I really wondered how could, or more to the point, why would a movie like this get made? After reading the report over at Latino Review, I learned the very sad truth: "The original Big Momma's House made $173 million off a $30 million dollar budget. In other words, though they may be blasphemous words, it did District 9 business. Of course something like that can be sequelized. Big Momma's House 2 was made for $40 million and grossed $138 million." Oh the horror.

How this happened, I have no idea. Although, if you look at just the domestic numbers the profits take quite a large dip, down to about $70 million. Apparently there is a huge international market for comedians in fat suits.
