Ohhh man!! Just yesterday I was talking about how PC gaming was another hobby of mine and yes, that included World of Warcraft. Then today Blizzard drops the hugest piece of news in gaming movies in a long time.

Blizzard has announced Sam Raimi will be directing a World of Warcraft movie! Raimi, who has directed the Spider-Man trilogy and more recently wrote and directed the horror Drag Me To Hell, had this to say: "At its core, Warcraft is a fantastic, action-packed story," said Raimi. "I am thrilled to work with such a dynamite production team to bring this project to the big screen."

Charles Roven who has produced Batman Begins and last year's The Dark Knight, along with Atlas Entertainment partner Alex Gartner have teamed up with Legendary Pictures, Warner Bros. and of course Blizzard to produce and finance this project.

As far as the vision and development for this film goes, Blizzard's Chief Operations Officer Paul Sams said this: "Blizzard Entertainment and Legendary Pictures have a shared vision for this film and we searched at length to find the very best director to bring that vision to life. From our first conversation with Sam, we could tell he was the perfect choice. Sam knows how to simultaneously satisfy the enthusiasts and the mainstream audience that might be experiencing that content for the first time. We're looking forward to working with him to achieve that here."

We'll have to wait a bit to see how that translates into the movie though. Raimi is scheduled to start this film after he completes his Spider-Man 4 movie which will start early next year.

Despite my usual skepticism about games that are made into movies, I'm very excited about this! I've been involved in and have played WoW for quite some time and I'd love for a film to be made about it. I do have one particular question that stands out against all my other ones though. Those who are familiar with WoW lore know that it's a massive story involving many wars and spanning an enormous time frame. So the obvious question would be, which part of the lore will be focused on?

What do you guys think? Which part of WoW would you like to see on the big screen?
