With regards to Robert Rodriguez and Ethan Maniquis' latest project Machete, there has been a huge piece of news making the rounds. The folks over at Bloody Disgusting have reported that Michelle Rodriguez, Jonah Hill and screen legend Robert De Niro have all been cast in this film!

Here's what BD had to say about the roles: "-DANNY TREJO is returning (obviously) as "Machete", the madman bent on revenge.
-MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ ("Lost", Fast & Furious, Avatar) is said to be playing "Luz".
-JONAH HILL, the comedian who has starred in such films as Superbad and the forthcoming Adam Sandler comedy Funny People, will play "Julio".
-Lastly, a legend of our time, ROBERT DE NIRO, will take on the role of "Senator McLaughlin"

The film's story goes like this: Trejo's character is an ex-federale who has taken up working as a field laborer and gets double crossed by a corrupt state senator played by De Niro.

During the film event, Grindhouse this film was actually featured as a teaser and shown in between the full length features from Quentin Tarantino and Rodriguez.




Although BD does state this reliability of the inside source, it does strongly recommend that you file this bit of news under "rumors" until it gets confirmation.
